Come take the trip with us through our CIVIC SPACE REIMAGINED Workshop 1 “Where do we go from here?”: Arts, Culture, and Expression in the Post-COVID Future”. The first in our series of dreaming+doing exercises is an interactive online workshop that aims to bring together the creative workers and doers in the region (East Asia + Southeast Asia) to explore our hopes and plans in reimagining civic spaces where we can thrive and flourish in the post-COVID future using theater’s creative techniques.
We invite activists, artivists, and rights defenders to participate, join the dreaming+doing exercises, propose actionable themes of your dreams and hopes for our post-COVID future, and collaborate with other participants in developing co-designed solutions, projects, activities, or initiatives. From these we will collectively identify two that Innovation for Change – East Asia can seed-fund with a modest sum.
All three workshops will have a limited number of participants who are already interested, engaged, and invested in the specified themes and are committed to pursuing activities, projects, campaigns, and advocacies that will move us from dreaming to doing exercise. A total of 30 slots per workshop are open. We request that you signify your interest and availability to participate as soon as possible. The registration process includes a short survey form that we hope you accomplish. The information you provide will help the team select participants and will help our facilitators and resource persons prepare for the workshops.

Workshop 1 is happening on Monday, 5 April 2021 from 8:00am to 1:00pm (GMT+7) with 1-hour intermission. Please note that due to COVID-19, our workshops will be conducted online via a secure platform. All three Civic Space Reimagined workshops will be conducted in English.
