COVID Conversations: Ili Nadiah Dzulfakar on Civil Society’s Efforts During the Pandemic

Ili Nadiah Dzulfakar of KAMY – Klima Action Malaysia talked about the difficulties faced by civil society organizations in reaching out to Malaysia’s indigenous communities that are now experiencing severe economic and health crises due to the pandemic.

“CSOs are working hard to send in supplies to indigenous communities in the interiors. But local coordinators are sometimes stopped by police, and they are delayed in getting supplies for their villagers.”

KAMY is currently co-managing a project called #MisiBantuOA that aims to centralize efforts to bring aid to the Orang Asli, the guardians of our forests. Click here for more details: https://en.klimaactionmalaysia.org/
