We are pleased to announce that Debbie Stothard has been nominated by the East Asia Governance Circle as our new East Asia Regional Steward to the I4C Global Governance Circle (2020-2021). Debbie, a Malaysian national based in Bangkok, Thailand, is the Regional Coordinator of ALTSEAN-Burma and former Secretary General of the International Federation of Human Rights (FIDH) from 2013-2019.
Debbie has been with the I4C-East Asia Hub from its incubation to the present, as an active adviser/participant on the hub’s initiatives on freedom of expression, business and human rights as well as the community leaders’ learning exchanges, and the work with the Rohingyas and inter-religious dialogue. Debbie believes that the Global Governance Circle must be empowered to effectively lead the Innovation for Change global network in the coming years. She believes that she can positively contribute to this empowerment process by tapping on the wealth of her advocacy, networking, and organizational development experiences, given the chance to serve as East Asia steward in the GGC.
