Asia Democracy Network‘s Soo Yon Suh says that, “We live in an age of information overload” and while technology is a great advancement, “it also comes with its challenges of increasing disinformation.”
With this comes the threat of having those in power hijacking and weaponizing the narrative. “In the so-called post-truth, ‘fake news’ era, the only ‘truth’ acceptable to governments is what they make it out to be.”
